  • Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and Regenerative Medicine for the Hip

    January 20-22, 2022 - Breckenridge, CO

    PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Hip pain is a common complaint in a musculoskeletal practice with disorders including tendinopathy, labral pathology, osteoarthritis, femoroacetabular impingement and snapping hip among others. The age-standardized prevalence of symptomatic radiographic hip OA has been shown to be as high as 10% and labral tears have been estimated to be present in up to 66% of those with sympathetic mechanical hip pain. Patients are often taken through various conservative treatment options including phased physical therapy progressions, steroid injections, arthroscopy and ultimately total hip replacement. According to a 2018 study there is an estimated 1.77 million hip arthroscopies performed annually and according to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, there are more than 450,000 total hip replacements each year.

This course will teach utilization of ultrasonography both diagnostically and therapeutically with an emphasis on regenerative medicine. We will emphasize appropriate patient selection, outcome measures and post regenerative medicine rehabilitation protocols.
