Joanne Borg-Stein, MD

Joanne Borg Steinm MD is a specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation who specializes in sports medicine. Dr Borg Stein grew up in a New York City suburb and completed undergraduate education at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. She graduated from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and completed residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Columbia University in NYC, where she was chief resident. She was a member of the faculty at Columbia for four years, then moved to the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and Harvard Medical School, where she has practiced for 20 years.

Dr Borg Stein is associate professor of PM&R at Harvard Medical School. She is the director of the Spaulding/Harvard Sports Medicine Fellowship. She is also the Medical Director for the Spine Center at Newton Wellesley Hospital and the Spaulding Rehabilitation Center in Wellesley. She serves as team physician for Wellesley College Varsity Athletics. Her research is focused on regenerative injection treatment for sports injury. She has authored many articles on treatment of musculoskeletal and sports injuries with regenerative injections and is chair of the musculoskeletal council of the American Academy of PM&R. She is associate editor to the journal PMR. Dr Borg Stein lives in Sharon, Mass. She has three grown children.

Jerod Cottrill, DO

Jerod A. Cottrill, DO, is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with fellowship training in interventional spine and sports medicine. His specialties include non-operative sports and musculoskeletal medicine, minimally invasive spine procedures, electrodiagnosis, and musculoskeletal ultrasound (diagnostic and for injection guidance). He offers a comprehensive treatment approach, evaluating the musculoskeletal biomechanics, coordinating rehabilitation medicine, combined with minimally invasive spine or ultrasound guided joint procedures if needed.

Dr. Cottrill emphasizes the importance of an early diagnosis, a comprehensive treatment plan, and patient education in order to restore function as quickly as possible.In his free time, Dr. Cottrill enjoys bicycling, skiing and snowboarding. He serves on the medical pool for the US ski and snowboard teams, providing local, national and international medical coverage for the teams while training and in competition.

Nelson Hager, MD

Dr. Hager is a UW clinical associate professor of rehabilitation medicine with an adjunct position in the Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine.

Patient Care Philosophy: Dr. Hager’s approach to patient care is to constantly work to better understand the cause and effect of the physical stressors on the human body through ongoing investigation and applying this knowledge through a patient care plan in the most practical and empathetic fashion as possible.

Personal Interests: In his free time, Dr. Hager and his wife Sharree turn to the outdoors for activities with their three daughters. In the winter, he and his family are most often found skiing at Crystal Mountain. In the summer, he enjoys boating, triathlons and golf.

Clinical Interests: Dr. Hager’s clinical interest is in the prevention and treatment of sports and exercise-related musculoskeletal injuries. His primary clinical focus is the aging athlete and musculoskeletal ultrasound applications in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal injuries.

He is passionate about helping the patient (whether it be weekend warriors or nationally competitive athletes) maintain a high level of fitness and working with the patient to develop strategies to optimize lifetime participation in physical activities. A former active duty officer for 24 years, he has a particular interest in opportunities to support the health care of soldiers.

Amir Mahajer, DO

Amir Mahajer, DO, FAOCPMR, FAAPMR is a board certified and fellowship trained physiatrist specializing in integrative pain, spine and sports medicine with expertise in spinal interventions, electrodiagnostics and osteopathic manipulative treatments. Dr. Mahajer’s clinical interests include musculoskeletal ultrasound, neuromodulation, regenerative medicine and vertebral augmentation. His focus in research pertains to orthobiologics in the treatment of spinal disorders.

Dr. Mahajer is Assistant Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in Miami, Florida. He practices Interventional Pain, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Baptist Health Center for Spine Care. Dr. Mahajer has written and reviewed multiple medical texts, chairs medical committees, and provides graduate medial education. He enjoys providing hands-on workshops and lecturing nationally and internationally on topics that range from point-of-care ultrasound to comprehensive spine care.

Scott Primack, DO

Scott J. Primack, DO, FAOCPMR is a 1988 graduate of the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, with subsequent residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.He received his board certification from the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine.

The primary focus of Dr. Primack’s practice is the diagnosis and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal and neurological disorders. He performs eletrodiagnostic studies, diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, interventional lumbar spine injections and osteopathic manipulation. He currently serves as Medical Director for the Colorado Special Olympics. Dr. Primack has Level II Full Accreditation from the Colorado Division of Workers’ Compensation. His area of research is in the design and implementation of functional outcome measures.

Jeff Strakowski, MD

Jeff Strakowski, MD completed his undergraduate studies at Indiana University and received his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at The Ohio State University in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Dr. Strakowski has subspecialty certifications in sports medicine, neuromuscular medicine, pain management and spinal cord injury medicine. He is ABEM Certified in Electrodiagnostic Medicine and ARDMS Certified in Muscloskeletal Ultrasound.

Christopher Visco, MD

Christopher J. Visco, MD is an Assistant Professor and Director of Sports Medicine in the Department of Rehabilitation and Regenerative Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, an Assistant Attending Physician at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Sports Medicine Fellowship Director, and Associate Residency Program Director.

He specializes in treating patients with sports and spine injuries. He completed his residency in PM&R at Kessler/UMDNJ and his Spine and Sports Fellowship at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago/Northwestern University. His main areas of interest are in sports and musculoskeletal medicine, applications of diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal ultrasound, preventative and regenerative musculoskeletal care, and medical education. He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as Sports Medicine, and is a registered musculoskeletal sonographer.

Reed Williams, MD

Reed C. Williams, MD, MBS is a dual-board certified physician, credentialed in both Sports Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He attended the University of Florida for his undergraduate studies, earned his master’s degree from Drexel University, and did his medical studies at Temple University’s Lewis Katz School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the Temple-Moss Rehabilitation program in Philadelphia, where he was elected chief resident, and then received further training during his sports fellowship at the Swedish Medical Center in Seattle.

Dr. Williams specializes in non-operative sports, musculoskeletal, and ultrasound medicine. He cares for patients of all shapes and sizes before, during, and after joint, muscle, tendon, spine and nerve injuries. He prides himself on the personal connection he has with his patients, believing the art of medicine to be just as important as the science behind it. Within his musculoskeletal ultrasound practice, Dr. Williams aims to provide precise, diagnostic, minimally invasive, office-based treatment to aid in the recovery and well-being of his patients.

Stephanie Wilson

Stephanie Wilson has been involved in running a full service association management and event planning company for a long time. She is a graduate of Ohio University where she earned a BS in journalism. After graduation, Stephanie launched her career in Philadelphia where she began working in administrative and marketing management. She has since advanced her career and moved into association management and event planning.

Stephanie is laser-focused on creating excellent medical education events and marketing those events to medical professionals across the spectrum. She is thrilled to introduce EXED and offer outstanding medical education to physicians and physician extenders. In her spare time, she practices yoga and mindful meditation. She loves riding her bike and spending time with her friends and family. Stephanie has two children who are both away at college and she loves when they are home for vacations and breaks.

Agnes is a New Jersey native and recently completed a 35-year career with Merck where she worked as an Executive Assistant in the health care industry including human health and animal health. Agnes brings to this role her extensive experience in meeting planning and organizing, administrative services, communication and customer service. Agnes enjoys working out, traveling and decorating and she mostly enjoys spending time with her daughter and her family.
