Program Overview

This intensive boutique workshop will feature basic lumbar spinal injection techniques, providing a hands on didactic educational session to provide a complete understanding of the indications for interventional lumbar injections and the basic knowledge to give the participant confidence in performing these injections. The workshop will improve your basic knowledge of spinal anatomy and utilization of fluoroscopy to identify the important landmarks to perform successful lumbar spinal injections

The faculty will provide hands on experience in addition to easy access, to discussing with them their multiple years of experience of performing these injections successfully. IN addition to the closeness of working with faculty the participant will learn the true medical necessity for performing these injections on patients. The faculty will teach you how to perform the following injections with confidence:

  1. Lumbar translaminar epidural corticosteroid injections and blocks
  2. Lumbar transforaminal epidural corticosteroid injections and blocks
  3. Lumbar zygophophyseal injections and medial branch block
  4. SI joint injection

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the course participants will learn:

  • Fluoroscopic anatomy of the lumbar spine
  • Medical necessity for performing lumbar interventional injections
  • Indications and contraindications of performing lumbar spine injections
  • Correct coding and medical documentation for lumbar spinal injection
  • Anatomical downfalls of lumbar spinal injections

Cancellations made 30 days or more in advance of the event date, will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made within 30 days will incur a 20% cancellation fee or may opt for a full credit for use toward another event.

These courses are created to enhance physician understanding of the complexity of performing these procedures only. The course will improve the proficiency of the attendant but does not supplement further mentoring and proctoring and additional experience to performing these procedures on patients without supervision.
