UltraSoundFEST: Student Physician MSK US Intensive

September 27

$60.00 – $150.00
Philadelphia , PA

Program Overview

UltraSoundFEST: Student Physician MSK US Intensive is a hands-on, immersive learning experience designed to equip medical students and residents with essential musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound skills. This interactive workshop combines expert-led didactic sessions with small-group hands-on training, allowing participants to develop proficiency in scanning techniques, image interpretation, and ultrasound-guided procedures. Through real-world case discussions, attendees will explore the role of MSK ultrasound in diagnosing and managing common musculoskeletal conditions in fields such as sports medicine, PM&R, orthopedics, and emergency medicine. The event also features a Scientific Research Exhibit, providing students and residents the opportunity to showcase their research in ultrasound applications. Whether you are new to ultrasound or looking to refine your skills, UltraSoundFEST offers an invaluable opportunity to enhance clinical knowledge, gain practical experience, and connect with peers and mentors in a collaborative learning environment.

____________

A WORD FROM THE COURSE CHAIRMAN ANISH RANAAnish Rana

Dear Colleagues & Future Leaders in Medicine,

The first time I picked up an ultrasound probe, I was both excited and overwhelmed. I had spent the first two years of medical school studying the anatomy and memorizing origins and insertions, but somehow, seeing these structures in real time on a screen felt like a whole new dimension of medicine. Ultrasound transforms our ever-expanding knowledge into dynamic understanding, bringing the anatomy to life.

Last year, I had the privilege of helping to organize  UltrasoundFest, and that experience opened more doors than I ever expected. From networking with experts in the field to honing clinical skills that proved especially invaluable during rotations, ultrasound became more than just a tool for me. It served as a bridge to connect with mentors and peers who continue to shape my journey in medicine to this day.

That’s why I’m thrilled to introduce UltrasoundFest 2025—a one-day, hands-on student musculoskeletal ultrasound bootcamp combined with a poster session and plenty of networking. We are designing this session to not only help students master this essential skill, but to help them build residency connections and mentorship opportunities. Whether you’re looking to connect with peers, present research, enhance your resume, or simply experience Philadelphia, this event will be beneficial for you and your journeys in medicine.

For Physicians Mentors: How You Can Help

We know that mentorship is one of the most powerful yet underrated forces in medical education. If you work with students interested in PM&R, sports medicine, family medicine, or ultrasound in general, we encourage you to share this opportunity with them. Many students enter residency without hands-on ultrasound training; UltrasoundFest helps bridge that gap. By spreading the word, you can help students gain essential skills that will set them apart in rotations, interviews, and clinical practice.

For Students Interested in Expanding their Education:

We believe ultrasound education and networking should be more than a one-day event. It should be a long-term investment in student success. Through this membership platform, our goal is to provide students year-round access to resources and connections they need to thrive and grow as leaders in the field of medicine.

So join us in shaping the future of medical education. We want everyone – from enthusiastic students eager to develop, network, grow, and learn, to residents and attendings looking to support the next generation – to be part of the UltrasoundFest 2025 experience. Please help spread the word, get involved, and take part in advancing medical education.

We look forward to seeing you in Philadelphia in September!
