Peripheral Nerve Ultrasound of the Lower Limb: Nerve Recognition and Diagnostic Assessment Including Electrodiagnostic Correlation

April 4 - April 6

$100.00 – $995.00
Nashville , TN

Program Overview

Peripheral nerve ultrasound has emerged as a valuable tool in the diagnostic assessment of lower limb neuropathies. This program aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the principles, techniques and applications of peripheral nerve ultrasound specifically focused on the lower limb. This includes nerve recognition for both diagnostic and ultrasound guided procedures. Furthermore, it emphasizes the correlation between ultrasound findings and electrodiagnostic studies, enhancing diagnostic accuracy and patient care.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the principles and techniques of peripheral nerve ultrasound imaging
  • Understand the anatomy and physiology of peripheral nerves in the lower limb
  • Identify normal and abnormal ultrasound characteristics of lower limb peripheral nerves
  • Recognize common peripheral nerve pathologies, including entrapments, compressions, traumatic injuries, and neuropathies
  • Learn appropriate ultrasound scanning protocols for comprehensive lower limb nerve assessment
  • Interpret ultrasound findings in correlation with clinical presentations and electrodiagnostic studies
  • Develop proficiency in ultrasound-guided interventions for peripheral nerve pathologies
  • Gain insights into the role of peripheral nerve ultrasound in the diagnosis and management of various neurological conditions
  • Enhance communication and collaboration among multidisciplinary healthcare teams involved in peripheral nerve care
  • Explore case studies and practical applications of peripheral nerve ultrasound in lower limb neuropathies
  • Recognize common lower limb neuropathies and their ultrasound characteristics
  • Interpret ultrasound findings in the context of electrodiagnostic studies
  • Discuss the role of peripheral nerve ultrasound in differential diagnosis and treatment planning
